The history of the practice goes back to 1850. In 1935Bernard Englefrom Hamburg, Germany joined the firm. In the sixties the practice underwent a change of direction and became one of the leading commercial firms in the UK.

H. Murat Aydın
He was born in Ankara and completed his high school education at Robert College, Istanbul. After graduating from Middle East Technical University, School of Architecture, he received his graduate degree from the School of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University. His work experience in various offices includes employment at Isbank Construction and Property Department (1989-90). In 1990 he founded the Arkera Company. Murat Aydın joined Ark Limited in 2002.
Hasan Selışık
He was born in Ankara and completed his high school education at Levent Lycée, Istanbul. In 1981 he received his graduate degree from Unité Pédagogique d'Architecture de Luminy-Marseilles. He worked in various offices in France and Turkey. In 1985 he won, along with Melih Birsel and Nezih Tekinel, the Üstay Centre shopping and office complex competition. Hasan Selışık is currently the construction coordinator of the archive building and health unit he designed in Ahmednagar, India. He joined Ark Limited in 2000.
S. Ahmet Ergelen
He was born in Istanbul and completed his high school education at Robert College, Istanbul. In 1986 he graduated from the University of Stuttgart with the "Diplom-Ingenieur" degree in Architecture. In the same year he received the Merit Award in the international student competition sponsored by the King Fahd Program with the project, Housing in Zeyrek, Istanbul. He worked in various offices in the USA including Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, New York (1989-91). In 1995 he became the founding partner of Ark Limited and is currently working in this capacity.
T. Mehmet Ergelen
He was born in Istanbul and completed his high school education at Robert College, Istanbul. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990 and his Master of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1994. In 1993 he took the first place in the "Motorola Pager of the Future" design competition. In 1996 he received the IIDA Acclaim Award and Design Journal ADEX Award with the "Serra" seating group. Mehmet Ergelen joined Ark Limited in 1998.
